Dr. Jim Bradford joined Central Assembly of God in Springfield, MO as the new Senior Pastor on August 17th, 2003. Pastor Bradford and his wife Sandi have two daughters, Meredith and Angeline.
Jim was born and raised for the first sixteen years of his life in Canada. His family moved to Minnesota with his father’s business just before his senior year in high school. His ambitions were both to serve God as a dedicated believer and to be an engineer.
This led him to the University of Minnesota where, in 1979, he finished a Ph.D. program in Aerospace Engineering. During that time Jim also led a small Chi Alpha Bible study which grew into a large student ministry. Upon graduation, he became the full-time Campus Pastor of that ministry, which one year later became Christians in Action University Church. Jim pastored that church until 1988. While in Minnesota, Jim also taught Bible and campus ministry classes as an adjunct teacher at North Central University in Minneapolis and helped to plant numerous other university ministries throughout Minnesota.
In 1988 Jim and his family moved to Southern California where he followed Dr. George Wood as Senior Pastor of Newport-Mesa Christian Center in Costa Mesa. He was there for 12 years before moving to Vancouver. While in California, Jim also served as an Executive Presbyter for the Southern California District Assemblies of God, A General Presbyter for the Assemblies of God General Council and an Executive Board Member for Vanguard University.
During his time in both Minnesota and California, Jim also informally extended his theological education by auditing graduate classes in Old Testament theology, Pauline studies and church leadership at both Bethel Seminary and Vanguard University.
Jim became the Senior Pastor of Broadway Church in Vancouver, Canada in September, 2000. Broadway is a multigenerational and increasingly multicultural church family of nearly 1800 people. In recent years Broadway focused its mission on making a practical difference in the more needy communities right where the church is located.
